What’s a “podcast,” anyway?

I had the same question when I started hearing the term, “podcast”  a few years ago.  As an avid radio listener, it seemed like radio on demand, when I was ready to listen to it rather than on a prescheduled time.  I was correct in theory but here’s a more technical definition: A podcast is a digital media file, or a group of such files which are distributed over the internet using syndication feeds for playback on personal media devices or computers.  The term “podcast can refer either to the content itself or to the method by which it it syndicated; the latter called “podcasting.”  The host of a podcast is often called a “podcaster.”

Since I love radio as well as talking to a variety of people; learning something new on a daily basis and sharing this knowledge with others – why not a podcast to speak and share with like minded people – women in particular?  I couldn’t come up with a viable answer.   So, after some research, I’m adding my voice to the podcast community.

The past few months have been spent learning about the ins and outs of setting up a podcast, finding and interviewing guests.  I’ve also written a free offer for subscribers to the “Living Life Marvelously with Rhonda Podcast.”  My hub website,  www.RhondaBHodge.com is being revamped to include information on the podcast and a few other changes.  All of this has taken time – more time than I had planned, given my other business, family and community responsibilities.  But we’re almost there and are planning for an April 2, 2015 launch date.

I’m so looking forward to this new adventure in my life’s journey of Living Life Marvelously.  I hope you’ll join me for the inspiration, sharing and learning – together.
