28 Days of SELF-LOVE (Day 1)

28 Days of SELF-LOVE-2

Wow, one month into a new year and on to the month known for the best four letter word – EVER.  What better time to focus on LOVE –  self-love!  I know that we all give so much to others – especially us women-folk.  I’m not complaining, cause I really do love helping others in any (almost) way that I can.

We sometimes get burned out and neglect ourselves in deference to others.  It’s the sacrificial way – to a certain extent.  But as the saying goes, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!”  Or more directly, we all know the twist on the flight attendant’s instruction, “Put on your oxygen mask before assisting others next to you.”  Advice well taken for sure!

This month, I’ll share with you simple but achievable hints on how to show yourself  love.  Most don’t cost much time or money.  All are focused on you so that you can be better to and for yourself.  Believe me, what I call the “splash-effect”  will be noticed by others and yourself.  Improved attitudes, beauty (smiles), health and overall well-being.

Tonight, as you prepare for bed, I hope that you will take the opportunity  to say thank you to God or your spiritual guide for the day that is closing as well as for the new one that is dawning.  One of my absolute favorite devotional books is this pocketbook and bedside edition of Max Lucado’s “Grace For The Moment.”  It’s still in print and available here or perhaps at your local bookstore.  This little book has been a God-send over the past few years in proving me peace, comfort and a true sense of God’s love for me.  Especially through some very difficult times with family, illnesses, deaths and other challenges.  So much grace!

That’s all for now – more tomorrow!

I’m always amazed at how generous you are!

    • Thanks Catherine. So many bible verses guide me in my desire to be a cheerful giver. Three of my favorite are Prov 17:22, Luke 6:37-38 and 2nd Corinthians 9:7. So many people have been generous to me that I’m trying to pass it on. Have a Fantastic Weekend.
